Kite surfing: Normans Bay, Pevensey Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 10-20kts Surf / Sea State: Lumpy Air Temperature: 22 Sea Temperature: OK Weather: Cloud/pt sun Max Speed: Distance Covered:
After yesterday's underpowered effort I pumped up the 16m Boxer as the
analometer was reading about 10-14kts. Yes as I put the kite up the wind
picked up. First attempt to self-launch had to abort due to crossed lines,
and by the time I got round to getting the kite up the wind had picked up
so much that the kite dragged be across the shingle. Ouch. Scratched arms a
go-go, and naturally had to bring the kite straight down. Packing up I got
blood on it, and decided to leave it as a reminder to double check if the
wind picks up (it was now 20kts).
Put up the 11m and used the Protoy due to the chop, but by the time that
was up I felt a bit underpowered. I couldn't seem to get thr trim of the
kite right... underpowered on the water yet it was a huge battle to walk
upwind on the beach. A few good runs, but a very frustrating 4 hours.
